Our Double IPA brewed with a very generous amount of Mosaic and Simcoe. Intensely aromatic and smooth, this hazy beer offers a cocktail of tropical fruit dominated by notes of ripe mango and guava.
On the nose:
The nose of the Tiberius is a little greener but just as fruity, notably honeydew melon and lychee. There is also a slight resinous aroma.
Color:
The color and opacity are very similar. The Métamorphe is a notch more opaque and the color of the Tiberius is a notch more ocher. Very subtle here… 😉
The Tiberius:
As its nose announced, Tiberius is greener in flavors but just as fruity (slightly less ripe mango, peach, honeydew melon, lychee, guava). The flavors also leave room for a little tangy side, like passion fruit or lemon. The sweetness is noticeable and can recall a hint of brown sugar or honey. The bitterness is more present and stings the tongue a little more. In terms of texture, Tiberius is slightly smoother and the finish is slightly longer.
Simultaneous tasting – Métamorphe / Tiberius
These two beers are quite different but clearly the same style. Besides, I’m not sure that I gain anything by comparing these two beers, two gems in their own way!
I still give a slight advantage to the Métamorphe for its side of ripe fruit which I love but I would say that the Tiberius is probably more complex. Here, it’s only a question of personal taste… Two very great beers!
