Tasting notes

A Scottish-style beer base fermented with our usual lager yeast, then aged at low temperature for 10 months in bourbon barrels that previously held our Russian Imperial Premium Stout.

The nose is slightly spicy with woody aromas, candied oranges and caramel.

The color is coppery orange and the small head that forms disappears quickly.

The beer is rather light for the style and alcohol content but it is very tasty.

The flavors of candied fruit and orange zest are coated with caramelized notes. There is also a taste of gently roasted cereals and fruit cake. Oddly, the texture is watery and the finish is quite short.

The woody side is pleasantly present and contributes to the complexity of the beer. The sweet aspect is never too heavy and is well balanced by the spicy flavors. Everything is completed by a very slight acidity reminiscent of citrus fruits, again, always in subtlety.

It’s a unique and original beer that deserves attention. A perfect blend of styles to tantalize our taste buds.
