A warming barleywine, complex with character. The flavors of ripe fruit, orange zest and lemon remind us a little of marmalade. Beautiful syrupy notes of honey perfectly accompany the malty, caramelized and slightly salty side of the beer. We almost have an impression of maple taffy. Floral bitterness and woody, almost earthy notes are among many elements that contribute to the complexity and richness of this Nordic brew. As for the finish, accompanied by a little veil of smoke so well balanced, it reminds me of the magnificent landscapes of Scotland.
Another brewing work from Matera that inspires me a lot! How promising the future is for these talented brewers!
