ACIDULA fraise vanille is a slightly tart wheat beer. The strawberry and vanilla flavours complement the fruity and spicy character produced by the yeast. A touch of lactose rounds everything out. An authentic summer beer!
It’s only been a month since I wrote a tasting on my site and it seriously seemed like an eternity! Even if my adventure as a self-employed worker is not very lucrative at the moment, I keep myself very busy with my personal projects. This is one of the reasons that pushed me towards this path, to have more time for myself.
The last month has been very busy with my latest project Cinéfil Québec. The same concept as le fil brassicole but for the arthouse cinema community in Quebec. I’ve received lots of good comments and it’s really nice but one day I’ll probably have to come to terms with the idea of going back to work for an employer… 😉
Enough about my life—today, I’m telling you about a beer from a brewer that I’ve never met but that I take great pleasure in following on Facebook. It’s clear, he doesn’t do things like the others. Lots of originality and talent! Today’s beer is the best I have tasted in my opinion in the Acidula series.
Its color is similar to rosé wine and already gives it a summery and inviting air. On the nose, it smells of strawberries, vanilla and cereals.
The beer label doesn’t lie! An important place was given to the strawberry by exploiting both its tangy and sweet side. In addition, lactose provides a subtle vanilla taste which integrates very well with fruity flavors and gives it a slightly velvety mouthfeel.
The always effervescent texture contributes to the refreshing and dry side of the beer. The finish, for its part, brings wilder notes and adds another level to the tasting experience.
The perfect beer for a hot and humid day like today. Enough complexity so that it can be enjoyed peacefully while being light and thirst-quenching. I have tasted four versions of this beer (strawberry, raspberry, orange and lemon) and this one is my favorite.
Cheers!
